I promised myself I wouldn’t think about school until August 1. Well, the panic has officially started.
I’ll try to spare you the boring details, but the overwhelming sense of urgency is centered around cramming each and every bit of summer fun in the three weeks I have left. At least my part-time jobbie has been funner than fun! I heart Becca!
SO--things I’ve been up to. . .
Riding mt bikes in secret locations with secret training partners that prefer to remain incognito. Not you Paul.

My secret training partner knew where to get the good views. That’s the Oxbow. NOW I get it!

Ashley and Ross hosted a little dinner party Friday night. Dan Coady tried his hand at making fried ice cream, well, fried Soy Delicious. Darcy gives it a super yum thumbs up.

Ashley and I decided to ride down to CT to meet her husband Ross at his running race Saturday morning. I mean, going from MA to CT is going south, so it must be all downhill, right?
Welllllll, the easy 40 miles I expected turned into a three hour slog. We got a little lost and added on some miles--some hilly miles. The last hour was filled will hills that were juuuuust bigger than rollers, maybe you’d call them kickers. I could get about three-quarters of the way up via the steamroller method, but when the momentum died, so did I. There are few things as damaging for the ego of a not-so-tiny-female than to watch petite Ashley pedal effortlessly up-up-and-away over the never ending series of hills.
I had plans of riding back home with Ross. Of course, I did NOT follow through with this plan. I blame the thunderstorms that were rolling in for my bail out. Right.
Riding down with Ashley was a lovely time of catching up, swapping secrets and laughing--always a successful combo for a ride. I was happy to be invited as my other option was racing the Concord Crit. I’m just not ready for racing yet. WIll I ever be?
Sunday JD and I met up with Heather Batchelor and her hubby Pete Hoffman for some mt biking. These two are our new favorite dirty couple--riding with them is fun, low-key and always a good time. They never really have an agenda, and they are both spectacular riders. Heather is one of those women who has no idea just how talented a rider she is. The technical stuff that she does impresses the crap out of me. She doesn’t always quite make the obstacle,

but she always tries.
Aren’t they the cutest??

Most of these pictures are with the iPhone’s camera, so they are only 2MP in size. Kind of a bummer, yes, but the phone has a cool app that auto uploads to Flickr with all sorts of tags already loaded. You can check those out here if you like. There were more, but I didn’t know that if I deleted them from the phone they would also be deleted from Flickr. Oooops. AirMe is fixing that issue with their next update and allowing you to delete just from the phone.
I’ve really been digging some of the app available for the phone. There are some truly brilliant people in the world. . .
This week’s panic revolves around getting ready for Great Glen mentally, physically and gear-ally. What tent should I buy?? Do I support a local company or do I go with a cycling standard that is a discontinued model? It’s gonna rain buckets.
Joy.
